Create a new Icon for a top Golf App

Golf Frontier is a website and mobile app for golfers, it can be used to get current distance as well as a scorecard and handicap tracker

A new app icon is needed to coincide with an upcoming release of new functionality for the Android version of the application, as well as the pending launch of a new iPhone version app. The current app profile can found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.application.golffrontier&hl=en Update,  I would like to change things up a bit, as I have been thinking long and hard about the direction I would like this contest to go.  I have added an image of a "Golf Ball with Attitude" that I would like to be the focal point of the new app icon.  Please feel free to change or revise as needed.  I would like to see icons that incorporate a character like this (with or without the application text).  I would ideally like to see the icons glossy, 3d and flat so I can think about which style works better.
