Create an icon for a myths & legends podcast

I am an oral storyteller, offering performances of myths, legends and folk-tales from around the world at festivals, schools, libraries, prisons and community events. I specialise in Celtic heroic legends, wonder tales, dark tales and in stories from animistic cultures. I also write fantasy fiction. I am in the process of creating a podcast called House of Legends, in which I will tell the stories that I perform, and through which I will promote my fiction and performances. I aim to rival the Myths & Legends podcast, a very popular podcast in which mythic stories are told in a sardonic tone, by telling similar stories without the jokes - letting the stories speak for themselves, backed up by my skill and experience as an oral storyteller. The podcast is aimed at intelligent, well-read adults.

I am looking for an icon for my podcast. I wish for the icon to appeal to an intelligent adult audience and to have a bright and contemporary feel, while also giving a sense of the mythical nature of the stories. My ethos is that mythical stories can reflect and illuminate modern lives. The icon should contain the text House of Legends. People tend to assume that storytelling is for children. To combat this, it is important for me to have a design with an adult feel. I also don’t want something that feels hokey, or gives a sense of storytelling as a throwback activity done by old bearded men wearing wizard cloaks. My current website, www.amongthewilddeer.com, might be helpful in giving a sense of what I am looking for - but this website design is quite old and I am looking to create a new, more fresh-looking one soon. A mythological creature, or an animal with mythological associations, depicted in an unusual or startling way, might work well - but I am open to all kinds of ideas.

Please avoid images of books. Please also do not use my name or my initials as most prospective listeners won't know me - the name of the podcast is more important. I prefer minimalistic, clearly defined images with bold colours, not pastel tones. An edgy feel - the gives the sense that myths and legends are not safe, un-challenging things - is good. Please bear in mind that the icon will be appear at about the size of a postage stamp when listeners are scrolling through iTunes/their podcast app. Text must be large enough to be clearly visible at this size. There is no need to include my name - just 'House of Legends'. Attached is an image of a raven that I like. I tell a lot of Celtic stories so animals such as deer, ravens, crows, wolves, boar would suit the podcast - again, just a suggestion, I am open to ideas.
