**Functionality** The functionality provided by the app lies in the area of birth control and women’s health associated with it. More specifically, the app focuses on taking oral contraceptives (“the pill”) on time, deals with side-effects and interactions with other medications, tracks symptoms like the PMS (premenstrual syndrome) as well as the user’s general well-being. The app also helps its users to gain more insight about their cycle, birth control, sexuality and how it correlates to their lifestyle in general. Additionally, the app provides the possibility to collect and prepare information that will become relevant when talking to a gynaecologist about problems related to sexuality and birth control. **Target Audience** Women in their childbearing years (aged 15 to 45) that are sexually active and do not want to become pregnant therefor taking oral contraceptives. They are interested in women’s health and lifestyle and are smartphone users.
What's your vision?
Required is an app icon that appeals to the target audience and has a simple and timeless design. The design should not only communicate the functionality of the app but even more focus on how it supports the user living a healthy lifestyle, having a fulfilling sexuality and peace of mind regarding birth control. The user should consider the app as a companion she can rely on. An idea for the icon that came to our mind was a tree like icon where the trunk of the tree symbolizes a happy and self-determined woman who enjoys her life. Please regard this as a rough guideline for the icon design and as starting point – it should not limit your creativity!
See the attachments for the colour scheme the app uses.
