Awesome icon for Radio App (Android)

Our product is a radio app (for Android) that allows the user to stream the most popular radios and podcasts. Instead of having a single application, we have developed multiple apps that are segmented by country. So for example, a user that installs our german app, he will have access to the most popular german radios and podcasts. The challenge is to freshen up our current app icon. I'm looking for something that is clean and simple.

I want an app icon that is eye-catching and I would like it to look, clean, modern and fresh - ideally something that immediately transmits the idea of what the app does. The app icon needs to have something that helps the user identify the country that the application is targeting, it can be a flag or for example a background with a specific colour (that I can easily change when I release it to different countries). Please have in mind, that the app icon will be used in an Android, so it needs to follow the new Adaptive Icons guidelines for proper rendering in devices above Android 8.0 Adaptive Icons guidelines : https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_adaptive
