jankOP got their new icon or button by running a design contest:
App Icon for a photo journal companion

Companion app for a daily photo journal service, with a strong community element and a love of photography as an art form.
What's your vision?
App icon for an iOS app centered around photography. The icon should express a focus on artful photography - I’m thinking maybe a journal/book, or a collage, or something along those lines. Including a camera is fine, but keep in mind: this is not a camera app. Its primary focus is on viewing and interacting with users’ daily photo journals. Emotion: Aim for friendly, familiar, and low-key. Many users have been posting daily for 8-10 years, and the service is built to celebrate long-term milestones like that. Hearts are an important aspect of Blipfoto, and mean much more than a standard “like”. Can be used as a decorative element - if it fits. Branding: The app is a third-party client for blipfoto.com. Both Blipfoto and my app are centered around user content, which means the designs are very straight-forward and low on design elements. The app is named to imply a close connection with Blipfoto, and is built with their blessing - but it is a third-party product, so I do not want to use the Blipfoto wordmark. What remains of the “parent” brand is a stark white-on-black aesthetic - might be useful, but I’m open to suggestions.
Attached: screen shots of how the app currently looks. Intentionally plain, content-first, low on custom styling.
