Johnbeede needed a new wordpress theme design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 19 designs submitted by 9 freelance designers.
We're a cutting edge company that does home energy audits for American homes. We need your help and design work to help us not only educate the public as to what we do... but also to build enough credibility in website visitors to allow us to come to their home and give them a home energy audit. This will help them save energy and stop wasting the large amount of energy that most homes do.
WHY SHOULD YOU SUBMIT?
1) All contest entries will receive feedback and starred ratings.
2) Contest will be guaranteed as soon as it's eligible
3) I have a proven track record of paying winners at 99designs.com on time and without hassle.
HOW CAN YOU WIN?
Good question. We have several required elements and some design elements we're leaving up to your creativity. First, the address of the current website is: http://www.useci.com. It's just a placeholder - you'll see it's not very functional, but it will give you an idea of what we do. The only thing we enjoy about the site is the current logo and the color palette because it conveys the idea that we're an environmentally conscious company.
Homeowners are our primary audience and target market.
SPECIAL BONUS WINNING TIP
We LOVE this design and the closer to it you can get while still maintaining the above elements, the better chance you have in winning:

Here are some other designs that you can model your design elements after and we'd likely be happy:

http://www.sandisk.com/

Notice that they are all simple to navigate, have a professional, yet 'web 2.0' look, and are 'clean,' meaning they aren't 'too busy' and they're very inviting.
Here's the web address of our primary competitor: http://www.wellhome.com...
