Leighmoyle got their new custom wordpress themes by running a design contest:
Open Source Innovation for Indian project professionals
Check out Leighmoyle's Custom Wordpress Themes contest…
PMgurus is a new startup social networking and knowledge sharing site exclusively for project professionals in the Indian market. The aim is to provide a space where innovation in Project Management and related general management fields can be developed using 'open sourcing' as has been done in the field of programming & design. Internationally knowledge, development and education in the project management field is fractured and in India in particular the standard of knowledge presentation is low. The blog needs to have the feel of India to demonstrate the target market but also to reflect technology and innovation and community. The blog will be all about community users driving and building project related technology, innovation and education.
Indian project professionals. These are generally practitioners working in either the IT or Construction Industry, but also includes academics in the field of project management. They are about 70% male and in the age group 35 - 50years however there is a small but increasing group of younger project professionals being trained to support the growth in the outsource market in India who will have a larger acceptance of the concept of social networking and open-sourcing. They are highly educated, technical, IT/technology savvy, have often spent time overseas for work and are generally part of India's growing middle to upper class. Education and improving their standard of living are all important for them as are educational and social status. This is a new and rapidly growing market in India with which I have a large contact base. I believe that this initiative is also leading edge internationally. The Project Management industry has been largely focussed on certification based education, classroom education and highly structured enterprise systems and processes. The existing model for this blog would come from the open-source development community blogs such as http://bettercodes.org/ The aim is to prove the concept in the Indian market and translate into other geographical areas if successful
Title PMgurus Innovating Project Management Colours: As per 99designs PMgurus logo competition http://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/79905/entries/8334130 From the logo brief - Significance of colour in India Saffron (orange not yellow) is the colour of holy men. Wearing the colour symbolises the quest for light. Yellow is the colour of knowledge and learning. It symbolises happiness, peace, meditation, competence and mental development Red is the colour of Shakti (prowess) & purity - most frequently used in auspicious occasions such as marriage Red & Ochre symbolise wealth & grandeur Black is a negative colour so lets minimise that to just text. Design needs to be clean and spacious looking and incorporating a paisley design similar (or same) as that of the logo competition. Perhaps in softer tones as an overall background and in a header. That is just for the Indian touch, however in all other respects the blog should represent innovation, technology and working together to achieve these. Blogs that I like; For design and image similar to the role of this blog; http://wordpress.org/showcase/bettercodes/ with a touch of (from the community/knowledge sharing aspect) http://solopracticeuniversity.com/ Suggested blog site structure - detailed in attached file
