I worked with Sam on the design of my website. I had a very clear idea of what i wanted, but just needed someone to bring this to life. From his initial designs Sam was able to hit it spot on and brought my concept to life from the get go.
I went back numerous times with feedback and Sam was always onto it, making the necessary amends which was great. He has a great and keen eye and I would recommend him to anyone looking to bring an idea to life. I will definitely be working with Sam again in the future!
How Soos started their custom wordpress themes journey
Who we are
We are a startup that's looking to start a blog that focuses solely on giving local, insider information that one wouldn’t normally find in the typical local glossies or online magazines. Our aim is to uncover all of the City’s (Dubai’s) best kept secrets…from services to products to limited deals and offers- we want to uncover and share it all!
Consider this blog your one stop shop for getting information that is not only ‘insightful’, but tried, tested, reviewed and shared by the bloggers. It’s not a PR platform per se…we are promoting things that we have experienced, bought, tried first-hand and simply opening our ‘biggmowths’ and sharing it with people. Ultimately, we want people to visit our blog, get information and go ‘Ahh’….we want readers to say ‘How come I didn’t know about this before..?’
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our typical end user could be just about anyone. However, during the first phase, we are mainly targeting people as young as teens up to those in their late 30's, men or women.
For this reason, the blog can't be too extreme one direction or another. It can be light-hearted and fun, but can't look too masculine or feminine. We like designs that are clean and bold. Readers need to grasp information/photos quickly and easily. Perhaps whitespace is the way to go…between each of the page elements.
We would like you to design the homepage and inside pages for our blog. The look & feel should be consistent with so-called "Web 2.0" designs - clean with lots of whitespace. Not too many visual elements or elaborate graphics. The site should be fun and lighthearted and very easy to use and navigate through. The colours should be taken directly from our colour palette (green, pink, white and black).
We've attached our brand logo.
- Here, we would like to introduce visitors to our site – explain what they can find here, why they should come back and encourage them to share the info they find here with their friends and family.
Buttons: An important part of the homepage is the "Like" button. This button should post tweets to twitter These post tweets to Twitter, so we'd like that button to be identifiable as ours, but it's ideal if the button also has a hint of the Twitter look & feel so people make that association quickly.
Every day, we will post ‘Biggmowth’s Favourite’ and it will start with ‘Pssstt… (followed by what we found/discovered that day- We will upload a photo and of course our article).
