vibes3 got their new clothing or apparel by running a design contest:
Kids' T-Shirt Line with Positive Messages
Check out vibes3's Clothing or apparel contest…
Company Background My son has a nonprofit called Cool & Dope that's all about raising awareness about bullying. He's 7 years old and has had to deal with bullying for a few years now. I would recommend looking at his social media on Instagram or Facebook to see what he does. Just look up @cooldopeliving. Brand Info I want to launch this t-shirt line that has positive messages for kids. I struggle to find shirts for boys that don't have the same old cars, sports, dinosaurs, video games stuff. And, I have spent HUNDREDS looking for positive message searches. So, I'm tired of doing that and as he gets older, it's becoming harder to find what I'm looking for. Unlike other companies we are nonprofit so 100% of all t-shirt proceeds go to fund his charity work. Our line will be designed for boys and girls. So, whatever you design should be for both genders or unisex. I really want to take things that kids play with and use those as part of the design with the text BUT the design doesn't have to be very detailed. I want to have a different look than what is already out there and something that when people see it they immediately know that it is our brand. The line will be called Cool Dope Living. It's fun, a bit edgy, always positive, and not afraid to do something different. Style Guidance (Do's and Dont's) This is what I buy for my son (I HATE the stupid monsters, trucks, and sports themes though). Sending these links so you get an idea of what's out there. BUT I want your designs to be completely different. Target Boys: https://www.target.com/c/graphic-tees-tops-boys-clothing-kids/-/N-55to3 I like this shirt: https://www.zulily.com/p/white-llama-drop-this-beat-tee-5675-71382544.html I LOVE this collection: https://www.target.com/c/celebrate-black-history-month/-/N-4utazZ6vathZ7tqnkZawp9wZlucm565vgu9?type=products&lnk=Kids Zara: https://www.zara.com/us/en/kids-boy-tshirts-l286.html?v1=1443871 I like Zara's stuff because they have little sayings like "Keep going", "Never give up" on the collar or the sleeve, really small, which I thought was different. Could be long-term ongoing work if we love your design!
Apparel description and purpose
This is for a youth t-shirt (size Youth-Medium to Youth-Large).
We will be doing "white label" so our logo will be included on the tag of the shirt. It is up to you if you want to include it on the actual design. We are open to either option and feel free to use either logo included. It doesn't matter to us BUT the logo should not be a big part of the design. Shirt Design Concept FRONT should say: "We still play doh" BACK should say: "Watch us change the world". Play doh here is clay that most kids play with, so I want to see how we can incorporate that into the shirt design. I also thought for the back to include binoculars, like they're looking into the future. Be as creative as you want to be, include designs on the sleeve, the collar, the sides of the shirt, I'm open to whatever!
What to avoid
See above in project description. The design should appeal to kids without being too "kiddish". PLEASE MAKE YOUR DESIGNS SO THEY COULD APPEAL TO KIDS FROM AGES 6 to 12 YEARS OLD. This is a MUST. We do not want to have a "kiddy" looking shirt. It should be a fun, edgy, clean design, with some touches that may appeal to a younger audience. Please avoid cartoon characters and bright colors that would immediately look like a shirt a 5 year old would wear. We want designs that are versatile that a 12 year old would WANT to wear too. PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENTS for examples.
