Simple, fun, cat character for book

Looking for a cat character for a children's book(ages 3-9). The book has 4 cats, but Bedford is the main focus. There will be an occasional human in the story as well. For now though, just looking for the one cat character. This part is MOST important! This character needs to be SIMPLE, but with LOADS of "personality". Think Mickey Mouse, Pete the Cat(but I don't Pete the Cat replica) etc. Every time someone looks at this character, it should make them smile and it should be UNMISTAKENLY original. Don't be afraid to take some risks. I love quirky, ingenious, even over-sized features with loads of expression. The other cats and humans would ALL be based off of this character(as far as simplicity). At the very least, the other cats will be. About the character: Bedford is a black boy cat, yellow eyes, black whiskers with one white whisker bigger than the others.  He is refined, classy, and wears a bow tie(yes, he wears human clothes.) Body is average in size, maybe slightly thinner. Human-like(especially eyes) is good too. He is very much into the finer things(art/history/theatre/opera). He can be a bit stuffy sometimes but is also very kind and fancies himself a bit of a mentor to the other cats. Together the cats will learn life lessons like kindness, sharing, listening, manners etc. He is an overall very lovable fellow. Clean lines are preferred. Winner of this will probably be called on for additional jobs directly related to this one, so please FEEL this character to your best ability.
