How BARC Boss started their character or mascot journey
Who are you known as?

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
BARC Connects is a startup fiber-to-the-home provider, offering gigabit internet, phone and cable TV (kind of like Google Fiber). Our target audience are homes and businesses in the City of Lexington and County of Rockbridge, Virginia. BARC Connects is a subsidiary of BARC Electric Cooperative.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We want a unique and recognizable dog mascot to use throughout our advertising campaigns, product offerings, and other public outreach efforts - a mascot that eventually comes to be recognized as the BARC dog. Because we offer ultra-fast internet, we were thinking about a greyhound or whippet. We also thought a husky might make for a good choice. But we are open to ideas.
The style of mascot we are going for is in the style of Kellogg's, a polished-looking mascot highlighted with light and shadow. Ultimately we will want him posed in many different positions so we can use him in all marketing materials, and on our website.
