Scribendi got their new character or mascot by running a design contest:
Create a series of avatars for our elearning website, Inklyo.com!

Inklyo offers a variety of online writing, editing, and grammar courses for a wide audience, ranging from business people to English second language students.
What's your vision?
What we are looking for is a set of professional, vector-style avatar characters to use in our online courses, based on the various audiences our courses are written for. For each type of writer, we would like at least one male and one female character. Please provide a wide demographic of characters (e.g., various ages and ethnicities). These will include: Business writers - We need a businessman and businesswoman in various poses. Academic writers - We need male and female university or college students in various poses. English second language (ESL) writers - We need male and female international or ESL students in various poses. Creative writers - We need male and female creative writers in various poses. General avatars - We need a general male and female in various poses. The style of the characters should not be overly cartoonish. Instead, we prefer a clean and simple style that provide a professional and engaging graphic element to our elearning courses.
Please see the attached document to learn a bit more about our company or visit our website (www.inklyo.com) to make sure that your clean and simple avatars match our branding and style.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Character or mascot starts at $349.
