Create edgy Pirate character and logo for Restaurant/Bar on the Lake

Ernie's on the Lake

The bar/restaurant (which is primarily a bar and concert/party venue on the lake) is called ‘Ernie’s on the Lake’ — very much a lake-party vibe, casual, live music, a big party (potential to be CRAZY parties), and ‘lake’ food (which is basically bar food - burgers, tacos, etc), beach volleyball, outdoor swimsuit bar, etc.  Just to give you a sense of the vibe... Our target are lake-people, spring breaker-types, party people ranging from 21 and up. Adult crowd.

Logo + Character Illustration
-We want a logo that includes the name “Ernie’s” in a cool/casual cursive (perhaps all in lower case, depending on how it looks). The ‘on the lake’ should be a subtitle of the logo.
-The character should be a cartoon-man (perhaps bald), middle aged, in decent shape (not overweight at all) and good-looking (this character is ‘Ernie’). Easy on the facial hair. He is a casual guy (happy/smiling) who spends his time on the lake, partying and boating.
-Popeye (the old cartoon character) is a decent reference for this character - but more modern looking, less muscular. He should also look a bit more like a pirate (subtle on the pirate aesthetic please - perhaps his clothes will look more like a pirate and also have a tattoo that is pirate-like, such as a skull/crossbones).
-As a starting point, we are imagining a graphic that has the character “Ernie” on a small island, with palm trees and perhaps a sunset behind him, with the “Ernie’s on the Lake” logo/text with it.

NOTE:
-We want the above to be a unified design (logo/text of Ernie’s on the Lake + character/island setting), but would ALSO like to be able to isolate just the “Ernie’s on the Lake” logo-text for use on other things — we don’t always want the entire illustration. We want both options.

IMAGE REFERENCES:
-Photos of the actual bar/restaurant so you can get a feel for the lake/party vibe - big parties, concerts, etc. (disregard any branding visible in these photos of the bar)
-Popeye as a character reference (see specific notes above)
-Sunset/island graphic - this is NOT what we want, but wanted to give you an idea of what I mean above in my notes about the character (‘Ernie’) standing on a small island with beach/lake imagery. We want something much more unique and stylized than this graphic (to match the design/aesthetic of the character)
