FIRST-IN-CATEGORY Twitch streamer needs strong brand & illustration

Entertainment & The Arts
I'm a Twitch live streamer breaking ground in the "creative" category with something no other steamer is doing.
What's your vision?
I'm a brand new Twitch streamer working on a unique concept. A number of indicators suggest I will be the FIRST streamer in this niche on the platform and, as such, I feel it's important that I *nail* the branding and set the bar as high as I can for production quality in this category. I have zero idea what my demo will be -- this is new ground. My Brand... Computer gaming will be a BIG part of my stream, but I will also be doing LIVE WOODWORKING with power tools and sawdust in a decently-appointed garage/shop. The things I build will be geared to three basic themes: - Things that make live-streaming easier to do, cheaper to DIY vs BUY, or prettier on camera (game character plaques / figurines, desktop or studio nicknacks, "build your own gaming / streaming desk"). Streamer stuff, basically. - Custom gifts for some of my own favorite streamers - Wood creations for people or organizations in need / charity I am branding with my real name: Brian Kelley My Socials: https://twitter.com/brianckelley https://instagram.com/brianckelley https://tiktok.com/brianckelley Youtube planned No Facebook My Stream: https://twitch.tv/briankelley (no middle initial) My chosen stream graphics colors weren't entirely deliberate. They just happen to look nice together in a graphics package I purchased. I wouldn't object (don't care) if the branding colors you choose are drastically different from this color theme. I'm providing them merely for reference. (Seriously. Creative license encouraged.) #00c9ed #fda648 #ffe2a0 #004957 My brand vision... A designer I found elsewhere produced something I don't hate, but am not in love with. https://i.imgur.com/WMtI4uV.jpg It captures several elements I believe are iconic representations of woodworking (all of which I requested for the design) -- wood chips/curls explosion, apron, speed square, hammer, and circular saw power tool in my left hand. The SAW (squad automatic weapon) in my right hand was given as my requirement, but I feel like its inclusion suggests I'm a gun enthusiast (and maybe a little "unhinged") rather than a "first person shooter" (game genre) fan. I think my likeness is somewhat well-done though a little under-detailed. I like the apron, shirt, rolled sleeves and full-name text perspective. (I could be a little more "muscle-y".) I feel that my initials along with the full name text dilutes the brand. I'm absolutely not tied to this illustration and would like you to feel empowered to create something entirely different. My wish is to present a brand that portrays equal parts gaming culture and woodworking as my shtick. A presentation that, perhaps, promotes some ambiguity between these two elements... "So, is he a gamer or does he do stuff with wood?". A full-on fire explosion behind my waist-high likeness that expelled wood chips / curls instead of earthen or metal shrapnel was one idea I believe contributed to that portrayal, but, again... this isn't a hard requirement for this project. I want to be clear about that. Something I didn't know I would like from the above linked designer's product is the smile on my face. I feel it's disarming and welcoming - an absolutely CORE ELEMENT of the stream and community I intend to build - yet juxtaposed with the sort of out-of-place aggression of a machine gun. (Imagine a scene in an action movie where the protagonist walks calmly and unflinching toward the camera while a gas station is exploding with extraordinary reds and yellows and blues, hundreds of feet in the air, in the shot behind them. I'm not tied to this vision either. It's just one item on the brainstorming list.) This presentation furthers the ambiguity I was talking about. At the end of the day, when the shop is clean, the tools are put away, and I'm shipping a thing I and my community made for someone who doesn't know it's coming -- the thing I hope to foster in my community is a sense of service to others. I don't know if that's even able to be captured in branding, but I thought it was important for you to get a sense of my motivation for diving in to this space. I find the symmetry and AUTHORITY of the typical e-sports logo appealing to *some* degree but I'm open to new concepts that generate mystique, intrigue, and confidence when the logo / illustration is seen. Hard requirements... I've never done an illustration on 99D before, so I don't know what to expect, or what I can safely ask for. The only hard requirements I have are that the delivered product be produced digitally, be vector or VERY large raster originals (min: 2000x2000), and be highly layered and retain these layers for further editing / manipulation. The winning work product will eventually be the source for large social banners, a logo, and a square avatar. I'm not asking you to produce these, but consider these destination formats while designing. I'm not skilled with artistry, but can manipulate layers and digital files to some degree to achieve my goal. Concept references... Please don't feel the need to mimic any of these. These references are strictly for conceptual ideation and not intended to be overly influential to your creative process. I'm providing them in case you don't know what a "speed square", "circular saw", or other wood working tools look like, that's all. --- a design that has some limited appeal to me https://i.imgur.com/1EbhFgd.png --- another. again, some limited appeal. https://i.imgur.com/0qwOBH3.png --- Me 1 https://i.imgur.com/2RoeDzU.jpg --- Apron 1 https://i.imgur.com/6bgwrVK.jpg --- Apron 2 https://i.imgur.com/A89bnbs.jpg --- Tools 1 https://i.imgur.com/nNkmQ2a.png --- Tools 2 https://i.imgur.com/36DlRBT.jpg --- Tools 3 https://i.imgur.com/TSrEsrd.jpg --- Tools 4 https://i.imgur.com/AIxLXyJ.png --- Tools 5 https://i.imgur.com/rbZK4dx.jpg --- Tools 6 https://i.imgur.com/HpPQ7n3.jpg --- Tools 7 https://i.imgur.com/LlZyF1P.jpg --- Tools 8 https://i.imgur.com/CEuqR9f.jpg --- Wood curls 1 https://i.imgur.com/IgErWDd.jpg --- Wood curls 2 https://i.imgur.com/Zg9OuYd.jpg --- Wood curls 3 https://i.imgur.com/e64MjqS.jpg
As a designer on this project, you should be at least somewhat familiar with live-streaming content creation platforms such as Twitch, Mixer, Youtube Gaming, or Facebook Gaming. Some big names in this space are DrDisrespect, Ninja, Markiplier, TimTheTatman, DrLupo, and Shroud.

I love the originality of the design, while we gave specific instructions, Lekvector came up with a unique look and his illustration work the best of the twenty-five designers working on our project. He was also easy to work back and forth with to get to a final design. I highly recommend Lekvector. Another great experience using 99 Designs, the best one so far.
