We need a creative Save the Date card to be mailed and emailed to our guest list. The theme of this year's event is "Hope Lives Here." This theme was inspired by the the dogs that live at PAWS during training and who represent hope for the people whose lives have been severely impacted by injury or disability - but the artists are free to interpret the theme and incorporate it into their design (or not) according to their creativity.
The design must include the CMGA logo, which is provided below. One of the traditions of the event is to create a new artistic treatment of the logo each year -
the design can be but does not have to be based on the theme. I am providing 3 versions of the logo. The first is the actual logo. The second and third show a simple and a more elaborate way in which the logo has been creatively treated in past years. The only limit is that the logo must be recognizable as the CMGA logo. (Please note - the version of the logo with the heart in it is not the official logo - the heart was added to incorporate the theme ("Love is...") from that year. The official logo is the first file that has no embellishments - just the glass with the film strip wrapped around it).
The card should include the text "Save the Date" and indicate the name of the event (The 2018 Celebrity Martini Glass Auction), the date of the event - March 24, 2018, the location (Artis-Naples in Naples, FL), the theme "Hope Lives Here" and the fact that the event is benefitting PAWS Assistance Dogs. The card should also include (unobtrusively) the web addresses for each: http://www.naplescmga.com and http://www.pawsassistancedogs.org.
Additionally, when we refer to a "card", it is not meant to limit the piece to a single-sided rectangle. We are open to more creative formats (bi-fold, tri-fold, die cut, etc), although production costs will be considered. Envelope designs are not a required element but entries that include envelopes as part of the overall creative design are certainly welcome.
The CMGA website (http://www.naplescmga.com) has a short video (about 3 min) that gives a good feel for the event and also has photos of the celebrity-autographed and artist-designed martini glasses to give a sense of what the event is about. That might help you find a direction or stir your creativity. Please be aware however, that the design of the website, including the colors, are branded for the 2017 event . That "look" will not be used for the 2018 event and shouldn't be considered for your design.
Added: I see many designers using dogs in their designs. The only type of dogs we use in our program is golden retrievers. Anything else will not make sense in the design.
