We need a gala invitation, matching RSVP card and matching envelopes for our big annual gala, which takes place in November. The event raises $100,000 to support writers and writing, and features readings by local and celebrity authors. The invitation will ideally be two-color, and will be a folded card in a standard size (we don't care what size as long as it just costs the regular amount to mail it).
On the front of the card, we'll need to display the name of the gala, the date and time and get people excited to attend. The outside of the card should also work as a graphic image that we can place on our website.
On the interior of the card, we'll need to display approximately 100+ donors' names (file attached to this brief).
On the righthand side of the interior of the card, we'll want to display the schedule of the evening's events (file attached).
On the back of the card, we'll want to give a brief overview of our mission.
The RSVP card should be one color and could look similar to the one that is attached, though of course the imagery will not be the same.
Now, the fun stuff: The event is called "Lit Up" and we'd like the design to be modern, fresh, fun, clean, and energetic. We'd like the focus to be on typography and clean lines. We'll need to include our logo, which is attached. The event is our fanciest event of the year, so the invitation will have to be rather formal and classy, but we're also a really vibrant, fun organization so we'd like the invite to reflect that energy. We don't really want any standard images of books, pens or pencils. When we think of the phrase "Lit Up" we picture lights, stars, ideas, and energy, though we like the double play of "lit" to mean "illuminated" but also to mean "literature." We also like that "lit" can connote drunk (this is a partying crowd and we serve lots of booze at the event!)
The first half of the event is for VIP donors, and the second half of it is a high-energy dance party. The space we are renting is very raw and modern and cool.
When this is delivered to us, we'd prefer to have the original InDesign files so that we can make last-minute updates to the donor list and other information.
We're really excited to see designs. Thanks!
We're also attached a sample of our usual color palette if you want to use any of those colors. Our logo can appear in red, black or white. The font with our logo is Whitney. Feel free to contact us with questions. Thanks!
