Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Boss Mama's Kitchen is a brand new food truck in Pierce County (about 25 miles south of Seattle). The concept of the business is to deliver that old fashion comfort food that you use to get when you were in high school after the foot ball game on a Friday night. Grilled Cheese, Hand Dipped Corn Dogs, Milkshakes, Burgers, Fries, etc. The truck is mobile, so it can go anywhere. It's an actual truck not a trailer. My target audience is going to be, in reality, everyone and anyone that likes comfort foods. The best areas in this city to be in are business parks, events, office buildings, etc. anywhere that there is a lot of foot traffic or an event going on. Food Trucks are a "new thing" here in this area and they are picking up some serious steam!
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Honestly, I am open to anything...I want something fun....and if possible, retro. Colors are key. It's old fashion comfort food. Initially, I wanted an old school "Eat at Joe's" theme, however a local restaurant owner has a very similar theme right now with the colors that I wanted (orange, light blue, white and black) so I can't go that route. I don't want to copy someone else. I need this to stand out and I want to use this logo on my business cards as well. Branding is key. The name "Boss Mama's Kitchen" came from my old boss, at my corporate job. I would always do nice things for my staff, and I'd make sure things got done. One day my boss said "look at Boss Mama gettin' things done!" and it stuck. I added kitchen to the name because I dont want customers to think I have one "specific" type of food. I wan't people to be curious and say "hmmmmm this looks good". I dont want a branding of "they have burgers"....if that makes sense......
One truck that I was impressed with, on design, was the truck that was made for Wahlburgers. I like the lettering and how it was done. I'm not a Wahlberg...but I like the concept. I also like the simplicity of The Grilled Cheese Truck in Los Angeles. I want it to stand out, but have "simple swagger", if that make's sense. Branding is key.
I don't have anything designed at this time, as I'm not an artist. I would like something like BMK in a font that I like, maybe in a circle or a cartoon version ..more of a retro font. I would also like to have "Boss Mama's Kitchen" spelled out....I think a BMK logo would be great for shirts, business cards, etc. I'm open to anything right now.
