Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
It's an Investment research exchange designed around crowd-sourcing, sharing, and analyzing stock ideas. The current phase of the site is focused on a talent contest designed to find and hire a senior and junior equity analyst via an-Apprentice-style competition. Applicants compete by submitting their stock analysis, challenging other applicants' stock ideas, and defending their ideas against other critiques – actions that may earn badges.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Applicants compete via proving their abilities in analysis and rebuttal, and are awarded badges based on quality, participation, and engagement.
Awards cover a variety of actions/conditions
1. I "heart" to be a sell-out (a company receives an acquisition offer)
2. Quality award (an acknowledgement of quality)
3. "Sherlock Holmes" award (a thorough investigation)
4. Pen in Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum colors or similar (4 color of same object)
5. Debater award (for quality challenges to research)
6. Bronze critic award (for critiquing research)
7. Flaming Shield award (rigorous defense of research)
8. Plastic shield award
9. Wood shield award
10. Iron shield award
11. Armored shield award
12. Biz cards award (for referrals)
13. Networker award
14. Paper cup award
15. Plastic cup award
16. Beer Stein award
17. Light bulb award
Notice that some, like the pens, are the same, but in different colors.
The winning designs include most if not all of the characteristics:
• Works by itself or next to other badges
I would like one badge for each award at 64 by 64 pixels per badge on a circular background as in the example below. The delivery formats are .ai and .png (+ .eps if possible).
I've attached examples of designs that have some of the properties and a little complex, but we are not licensed to use:
We hope that one designer will guarantee consistency of design across all badges while maintaining some simplicity.
Creativity and consistency are key, but we are not against badge designs that resemble or are in the style of clip art as long as the designs are legally ours to use royalty free, meet the requirements, and are delivered in requested formats.
The target users are finance and bankers most likely within 10 yrs of college.
For comparison, you might view foursquare badges as a parallel in a different market.
