Marcot got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Icon for OS X Lion iTunes search app
Check out Marcot's Button or icon contest…
We develop consumer apps for iOS and OS X. Our focus is on user experience and sheer beauty.
What's your vision?
We are looking for an icon for our upcoming OS X Lion app, called Tunesque. Tunesque allows user to search the iTunes and App Stores without having to launch iTunes or the App Store app. It runs from the menu bar, and works in a way similar to Spotlight. The icon should be instantly recognizable and it should be possible to derive a similar black-and-white icon for the menu bar. Having a menubar design would be a great bonus. The main icon should be 512x512, 256x256, 128x128, 32x32, and 16x16 pixels. The menubar icon must be 14x14px, black on transparent. A beta of the app can be downloaded from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7437071/tunesque/Tunesque.zip Note: requires OS X 10.7 Lion

Gianluca is an incredibly gifted designer. His sensibility and instinct is impeccable. He is very very talented, versatile and has an uncanny ability to understand the needs of his clients. In addition to his technical, artistic ability he possess that rare sense of vision that you cannot learn but simply have to have as part of your instinct. We look forward to working together again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
