Who are you known as?
Chicago Public Schools - Military Academy Brochure
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
8th Grade students and their parents who are considering attending one of Chicago's 6 Military High Schools. Our audience is 88% low-income and 96% minority - half hispanic and half African American.
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the brochure?
I am looking for a clean and easily digestable style for parents and students. Most of them have the misconception that attending a military academy high school is a commitment to joining the military which is not true. Our high schools are focused on preparing students for college through an academically rigorous, structured, but also fun academic experience. The pictures of students need to demonstrate "team/leadership", academic focus, and also aspects that are specific to the military academy model (marching, award ceremonies, etc).

What to avoid
The brochure should not be too "americana" since our goal is to emphasize that these are rigorous and academically challenging high schools - not military recruiting.
