Alexander Hackman got their new brochure by running a design contest:
Brochure "Newly registered companies - become a customer"
Check out Alexander Hackman's Brochure contest…
The brochure will be included in an addressed advertisement sent together with other companies to the owner of completely new start-ups. The addresses are purchased from the Swedish authority for company registration. NOTE! I have attached a file with thumbnails that shows what content will be on the company's website. These thumbnails are screenshots from another company's website as well as from a web page tool. The design of the thumbnails is definitely not intended to provide a guide on what the layout of the site will be but ONLY what content it should have. You can use this as a guide to know what content the brochure should have as the intention is to attract visitors to the site. The ultimate goal is for them to become customers of the accounting firm.
My brief is long but it is only ment to give you an easy start. Please use it as an inspiration and not too as strict instructions. The more you catch our soul in your design, the more likely is it for you to win. :-) My accounting company is under construction so the website and the advertising brochure are created in parallel. Our service is managed in an accounting app or via the web. The customer photographs their receipts and sends their invoices via e-mail. The client has a contact person at the auditing company so it should be a personal tone that shows that you can call, email or visit us if you want. It is important that the reader immediately understands that we are an accounting firm that sells services. There is a risk that the reader thinks that we are selling an accounting program that they themselves will use when the design contains images on web pages and apps. However, we want it to be clear that we work with digital tools, so it is a balancing act to convey that we provide digital services and that we have a personal contact. Our image should feel relaxed but serious. When you come to a meeting with us, we sit in comfortable armchairs instead of at a conference table, but we do not have a ping pong table in the office. We show our presentations on screens and do not have binders and paper visible. We do not have a shirt and tie. We can have a polo shirt but not a cap. We have sneekers and nice jeans. The message in the brochure must be clear (call to action: become a customer now!). The texts must be short in a visually easy-to-read font. The message should preferably appear in the title of each page in a sentence. The graphic design should be a combination of modern and professional strict. We think new in the traditional industry. We want to go outside the box but not too far. We want to attract the new IT generation but not scare away the older generation. The pictures are welcome to show people who use our services, who receive advice or who are small business owners. It should be an equal proportion of men and women aged 30-60 years. It can be happy people but not overjoyed. Ethnicity should primarily be Northern European; not because we have any prejudices about what a person should look like but because the images should not reveal too clearly that they were bought from an image bank. The background of the pages may be dark.
What to avoid
It should be obvious that we sell accounting services, not accounting software (however, the accounting software is included in the price because we at the accounting firm use it and the customer uses our app).

This is the second time I have collaborated with Design Monster. It is polite and accommodating and has had great patience with the changes I have wanted to make to the design. I highly recommend this designer.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
