The salon is named after my wife and business partner Saffron Burton and is currently known as Saffron Hairdressing.
This has been great for getting her name out into the market place and attracting clients that become aware of her name due to it's uniqueness, however it has a very formal and traditional vibe to it and the salon is aiming for more younger, trendy and funky clients as it is becoming well known via Instagram and Facebook for it's bright colour re-styles.
The salon uses Goldwell and KMS as key suppliers who have a colour-range called Elumen which typically creates the brighter and more stand-out colours.
We want to capitalise on this image and re-invent the salon brand to both be more representative of the clients and work we produce and jump-out to potential clients and above our competition.
The salon needs to keep my wife's name in some capacity but the desire is to have more of a brand as the salon expands and takes on more staff, and so we have opted for Safy B's (my wife's nickname) as the new salon name which we feel appeals to both a younger and funkier client-base but also to the existing clients.
The existing brand, logo and colour scheme have served us well but do not stand-out on either digital or print mediums. We want to keep a degree of luxury and sophistication in the new brand but whilst also incorporating some more funk and with a brighter colour palette that makes it jump out.
We want a logo that can be used on all print and digital media including signage in and outside the salon. We also want a brand stamp/moniker that can be use to "tag" social media posts and which is recognisable. We think this could be a bordered and stylised "SB" mark/stamp we apply to pictures uploaded on social media and which may (but may not!) be incorporated into the main logo.
Existing print media includes business cards, letter heads, gift certificates, recommend-a-friend cards, price lists and advertising (attached to give an idea). We have been very happy with these and they have been received well and convey the modern and luxury element, but would all be updated with new branding to be consistent and stand out.
Existing website/social media pages are as follows, with tonnes of photos showing the work the salon produces.
