Medical & Pharmaceutical
Place of Mind is a private psychiatric practice in NYC serving children, adolescents, and young adults. I am a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I believe in being honest, direct, yet very thorough, and invested. In treating these individual, I will also communicate with their families and schools. A metaphor to my work with my patients, I would describe it as a journey where a patient is facing struggles, standing on one bank of the river. Together, putting joint efforts and support, pt will hopefully be able to successfully cross the river, not drowning , and reaching the other bank, the safe one, safely. Maybe a tip to help in terms of my philosophy. As a child psychiatrist and a psychoanalyst, I strongly believe that who we are, is to a significant degree, an outcome of our childhood and relationships with our parents. As an adult, a good outcome is acheived when the teenager/young adult gains insight into his childhood, builds a narrative to his past, and is such a way, accepts it and is freed to live more freely and independently in the present.
Another alternative that I like is creative minimal modern designs. I will put a few examples.
