Medical & Pharmaceutical
We are a privately-owned high level, specialized, pediatric practice located in Kansas City. Our subspecialists include a pediatric endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, neurologist, and intensive care doctor. The specialists work in our clinic and the intensive care doctor operates out of Overland Park Regional Medical Center, which is located next to our office. We are undergoing a transition with a new name. Our doctors have established reputations in the community, but Midwest Pediatric Specialists is a new name and brand awareness is important for us to attain. Our target is parents with children suffering from more serious illnesses than day-to-day pediatrics. Some examples include type one diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid or adrenal disorders, pituitary abnormalities, brain tumors or growths that cause hormonal disruptions, auto-immune disorders like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, and so forth. Currently, our only competitor in Kansas City is Children’s Mercy Hospital so we are the only alternative for pediatric sub-specialty care in a large metro area. I have included their logo in this brief, NOT because we want something similar but for insight into what residents have visually associated with pediatric specialty care for many years. We are differentiated from Children’s Mercy because we are not owned by a hospital. Therefore, we can operate like a concierge medical service. The words we use to describe ourselves are responsive, communicative, personalized, caring, flexible, and approachable to both parents and children. Here are some key differences: 1. Our specialists are immediately available. Instead of going through multiple layers, perhaps seeing medical students or hospital residents before the specialist, patients immediately talk directly to a board-certified physician with many years of experience. 2. We are easy to reach. Parents have direct access to the attending physician vs. interacting with secondary hospital staff or other layers of bureaucracy. 3. We are flexible and think on our feet. We are not protocol or process driven. This means fast access to appointments, quicker diagnoses and understanding about the child’s disorder, and expedient response directly from the doctor when necessary. We can make adjustments and modifications to the changing needs of the patient quickly as necessary. 4. We operate out of a local community hospital instead of a giant network. Care occurs in the patient’s neighborhood instead across town for both convenience and reassurance during a stressful time. We want our logo to communicate our high care standards and level of professionalism. But we also want it to be friendly and warm because we are caring for children. That does not mean we want it to be playful or kid-oriented because we deal with serious issues. But we also don’t want to be overly somber because we work with children. The logo designs I chose as representative of the tone we desire appeared to me to be lighthearted yet serious, friendly yet professional. We do plan to use the logo on our website (which is being designed once we have the final logo), Facebook page, and Google My Business listing. Letterhead will also be needed. I am happy to answer any questions to assist artists on this project.
Please note that I've picked out designs that I liked because of the simplicity yet professionalism that seemed to balance playful with sophisticated. However, we don't want an overly colorful design. Please don't use too many colors, or 4 max.
