infKkP got their new logo & brand identity pack by running a design contest:
Monty Python inspired branding for new publication

Entertainment & The Arts
Logo/Branding is for a publication based out of Nashville, Tennessee with an irreverent, comical slant in the vein of Spy Magazine (from the 90s), Quillette (today), and Monty Python.
Other color requirements
Masthead should look as good in B&W as it does in color.
We want to recreate the old masthead feel of a newspaper. Our site design/layout is inspired by, as our name implies, pamphlets. The masthead should have a hand-drawn or engraved feel to it. Something you'd see on an old Renaissance pamphlet, but with modern signs, symbols, etc. We also like the collages of Rauschenberg and the "brutalist" branch of web design emphasizing style over substance (see: https://www.awwwards.com/awwwards/collections/brutalism/). One idea was to have "PAMPHLETEER" sketched onto a banner flapping behind a hot air balloon, glider, or airplane. The mood of the publication is off-the-wall and pretty zany. We'll overflow with sardonic humor and wit, so we want a masthead that communicates our playfulness without being too goofy (a difficult line, I realize). Below is a kind of mood board to riff off of. The Cream colored webpage design is where we are going with the current site design/layout so you can understand how the masthead can easily slide in there. We enjoy the messiness of modern, brutalist design. The collage like nature of some of those word marks. More than anything, we want to convey energy.

And then… they selected a winner!
bloc. was great to work with throughout the entire design process. Once the winning design had been chosen, there were lots of small adjustments to make, and not only did bloc. quickly make these changes, there were also many small things done to make things better without my request.
The designer's attention to detail and desire to get it just perfect was evident throughout. Communication was timely and thorough. I'd be happy to work with this designer again in the future.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
