Where do we start?...We are not necessarily creative types by trade, so we could use your support around developing our logo and brand identity. While we realize that Michigan CiderWorks in and of itself is somewhat generic, it does describe where we are from and what we do. We've taken to referring to ourselves as MCW, and have messed around with the idea of just having MCW as our logo, obviously done more creatively thanks to you folks out there with skills beyond our wildest dreams. Knowing our efforts to create a logo and identity have not advanced much further than some well thought out albeit random scribblings, we haven't put too much thought towards logos, slogans, etc., which are all needed for the near future of labeling, packaging, and marketing efforts. We would appreciate any feedback you might have as to our name choices as well as their marketability. We definitely need a logo that we can start prototyping on labels that will be placed on our hard cider bottles for our test market campaign starting this season. Right now, our bottles will be stubby neck 16oz glass bottles (similar to, but taller than, a Red Stripe glass bottle - see attachment) that will be competing with brands that are often considered craft, artisan, and/or high end compared to hard ciders, but ultimately we would like to end up in 16 ounce cans. We want to be recognized for our small batch process and unique flavor profiles that allows us to produce the best product our consumers will ever try, which differs from those mass produced hard ciders found on the shelf in the grocery store. Our hope is to build our brand regionally in the Midwest by focusing on our home state of Michigan first because it's where our roots are.......and where all our apples come from! We're not sure how to truly communicate the style of logo, brand identity, etc that we are looking for but we appreciate designs on products such as Rhinegeist/Cidergeist out of Ohio, Modern Times, and FieldWork Brewing. Their logos are simple, but able to be used across all their branded products whether that is on labels for product, merchandise, etc. At the same time we appreciate the modern, abstract, geometric designs of brands such as Omnipollo, Evil Twin, Aslin, and Other Half Brewing as long as the image is not cartoon like in nature. Their designs draw in the consumers eyes, are colorful, and are selling out before the product hits the shelf! Some sort of happy medium between the two aptly describes our vision for the MCW logo and brand identity. With your help and superior creative abilities we are bound to create a brand identity and logo that is sure to resonate with our customers. Thanks!!
Update: can we see some designs that incorporate or use our name / abbreviation as the main focus possibly in a font that you really love and think would work great? Let's focus on our name layout and we can go from there.
Update: we would like to see some more modern designs that incorporate geometric elements as well as MCW focus. See our brief for what we mean by youthful geometric wild labels we are looking to put our logo onto. Thanks for all your hard work and consideration!
