localman got their new logo & brand identity pack by running a design contest:
We empower people through Optimal Health - Help us create a logo and brand.

The Optimal DX (ODX) platform uses advanced proprietary algorithms, logic and commentary to analyze healthcare data and reveal, manage and predict the state of Functional Wellness and deficiencies in the major systems of the body. Patterns are analyzed, the state of wellness in functional systems are revealed, and personalized healthcare recommendations are suggested to correct underlying physiological imbalances and reduce long-term health risks. ODX is a SaaS company that currently market to a global community of healthcare professionals in the Alternative and Functional Medicine space. ODX is the next iteration of our corporate identity and we are seeking to create a new brand and look-and-feel that can be used to market our products and services to a wider audience of healthcare practitioners and healthcare consumers. ODX is seeking a logo design and brand identity that will anchor our brand. We are interested in having designs for the words OptimalDX and the abbreviated ODX. We are open to having a graphical logo that accompanies the written words. We want a logo that fits with our corporate color palette.
Colors • Green - a universal color of 'good', 'ok', 'wellbeing', ‘optimal’. • Blue - goes well with green. Can represent ‘water’, ‘life’. • Therefore: A subtle interpretation could be life moving towards optimal – blue towards green. • Incorporate idea of movement towards optimal (Chart, directional, improvement) We created a logo internally using a modified stock image and Gothic font for the text. We think stylizing the O or the X is a good place to start and played around with a few designs. Please feel free to use them as inspiration. Concept 1 All of the designs of Concept 1 stylize the X in OptimalDX. Each have a different emphasis and each aim to evoke slightly different reactions. They all incorporate a sense of directionality – so the X also forms an arrow – symbolic of ‘moving towards optimal health’. Additionally, the X could be interpreted as an ‘alternate’ representation of the ubiquitous medical cross (+) (ie. Red cross). Concept 1a has a subtle ‘heart look’ as a hat tip to ‘love’, ‘caring’. It has a softer look, with rounded corners of the X. It uses blue gradients in the design. This could be an approach to take if we wanted to use a single color, rather than combination (which may be easier to match with other colors). This could be done in the blue as is or green instead. Concept 1b has the greatest emphasis on the arrow/directionality concept of the X. It introduces both the green and blue colors. Concept 1b I believe is more unique and therefore potentially more memorable than 1a. Concept 1c takes the logo in a more playful yet confident direction. It still maintains the directional sense of the X and the 2 colors. However it ‘breaks’ outside of the lines. It’s perhaps the most memorable of the 3 concepts- although 1b might be most unique. Concept 2 Concept 2 stylizes the O, rather than the X in OptimalDX. • O is the target (there are a number of brands that stylize O’s, namely Target). So it may be more difficult to be unique. • O can incorporate an arrow to symbolize directionality as we did in concept 1, but we need to be careful it doesn’t look like a ‘waiting’ or ‘recycling’ icon. • We could add a point to the O as a hat tip or symbolic of our history in blood chemistry (blood drop).
