This brand identity is for a new hotel brand that will be applied to multiple existing hotels in the Midwestern USA. The hotels will be a mixture of different property types, most in the two-three star range, competing with Holiday Inns, Hampton Inns, Best Westerns, and others in that category. All will be comfortably appointed, kept very clean with updated rooms, but they will not be competing with the Four Seasons or Ritz Carltons -- I do not want to oversell the brand by creating a false expectation here.
We want this brand to be adaptable to different properties -- for instance, one property may be a "Blue Sage Inn & Suites", while another may be a "Blue Sage Lodge". The brand will have to be adaptable in name and application, while keeping the logo, look, feel, identity the same in any future use. I don't want the logo or image to change, only the name in this instance.
As you can tell, our name is after the "blue sage" flower plant that grows in our region. I want the logo to be of some form of this plant, and to have colors roughly align with what you see when the blue sage plant is in bloom.
The biggest inspiration I've received is from WoodSpring hotels (https://www.woodspring.com/), it seems to hit all of the style elements I'm looking for, and doesn't promise too much.
