- Mei Woods
Mei Woods was fantastic to work with, very quick and responsive to feedback and requests. This designer maintained a high quality of design aesthetic from the start and ultimately produced the winning design for my new logo. I would highly recommend Mei Woods for any graphic design needs!
What a wonderful first experience that I had with my Giulia and 99designs. The process online was easy - I actually saw one of her designs that I liked and did not go through a design contest. She was incredibly timely, communicated clearly, listened to my needs and concerns and was willing to work through changes in my design until I was completely happy with my new logo. THANK YOU!!

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I make bespoke celebration and wedding cakes for customers from my home kitchen and deliver to local areas (local to Sheffield, South Yorkshire). My customers are looking to create a high impact at their celebrations with cakes which are instantly impressive to guests, which delight the eye when looked at more closely and which are equally delightful in taste and texture. My customers usually have a general idea or theme in mind but I like to question them further (face to face or on the phone) in order to find little details which would make the cake more special to the individual who's receiving it (especially in the case of children's birthdays) or to more effectively 'tell the story' in the case of major events like weddings. I am especially committed to experimenting with what is possible and trying out new techniques, for example, when my seven year-old son said he'd like a rocket cake, I made a cake sculpture of a bright orange rocket taking off with edible 'flames' and another cake below sculpted into a silvery cloud of smoke. The whole thing stood about 3' high on a board with an in-built speaker and audio button playing a NASA countdown. It made him laugh with delight when he saw it and that's what my company is all about.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Food & Drink
Other color requirements
I like teal, lime green, iris blue and that really amazing shade of blue that seems to suck in light which Matisse used a lot.

I generally imagine my company name, 'cake by delphine', in lower-case letters as I think it appears more informal and playful that way but I'm open to other suggestions as well. While I still haven't found a font I'm happy with, when I've been playing around on Word, I keep coming back to 'Maiandra GD' and 'GungsuhChe' as possibilities but they're a bit boring as they are, it's like they have no texture.
I'm wondering whether the rocket cake I made might be a good starting point for a symbol as it was the first time I set out to make a cake as a 'proper cake maker' and I really did go through a fantastic learning curve in doing it which was exciting and rewarding. Other than that, the only idea for a logo I had was playing around with either the 'l' or the 'i' of my name so that it looked a bit like a magician's wand - a bit of magic? Still, I'm coming to you as I'm worried that might be too cheesy - I just don't know!
