This was an amazing experience
This designer was very patient and willing to work with us throughout the process. We gave a lot of feedback to get the design to where we wanted it, and the designer was receptive to the feedback and ultimately produced a great logo and design for us. I would recommend working with this designer!

How Tim Desselles started their logo & brand identity pack journey
Who are you known as?
Salient or SEA (Salient Environmental Associates)
What’s your company slogan?
None yet formalized, we are considering "Brilliant People, Brilliant Service"
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a startup which will offer high-end environmental engineering and consulting services to major multi-national industrial companies (think Shell, Rolls-Royce, Apple, etc.). It's pure professional knowledge work, we sell time as billable hours just like a law firm, so an image of sophistication and experience is key. However, as a growth company in a greater purpose-driven career field, we want a logo that junior consultants can adopt as part of their identity at work as part of driving a team-oriented culture.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: White, Gray, Green, Purple, Yellow

The attached image file is for a leading competitor's logo which we feel does an excellent job of capturing the ethos we are seeking. It overlays the graph paper grid of engineering with the organic growth of the golden spiral. It is elegant, simple, and sophisticated. Three-letter acronym companies abound in this market (ERM, URS, PPM, RTP, TRC, etc.), and others use names which make a word play on wisdom or divinity (Sage, Providence, Trinity, etc.). We have chosen Salient, as in "the salient (important) point", to evoke thoughts of problem-solving and experience in our clients. We are open to the use of either "Salient" or "SEA" incorporated into the stationary variants of the basic design, but there must be a stand-alone logo that is distinct and recognizable without the text. Use of shapes that utilize the golden ratio (phi) are encouraged but not required. Utilizing the abstract golden spiral as a central feature of the design will be disqualified as too similar to the example provided, but use of the curvature in other ways is acceptable (although not required).
