ESTER- Distilling Co. is a distillery project intending to design, develop and manufacture unique, bespoke and intriguing Australian spirits and liqueurs, rum, gin, Australian whiskey, and aperitifs. We plan to use as many Australian native ingredients as possible using traditional methods. Ester goals are to gain recognition for bringing quality, innovative spirits to Australia and the world from their humble beginnings.
Ester wants to make world class booze that is not hung up on pretense. Ester wants to bring innovative, modern fresh ideas and flavours to an old school craft that is sometimes very heavily bogged down with exaggerated grandiose tradition. We just want to make a bloody good drink.

What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Any design we choose we would like to have metallic used in the label. It really needs to be seen in a dark bar so a bright colour like matisse blue with silver, or a red and silver or greens and gold etc..
We are after something uniquely fresh, modern and Australian but rooted in classic design principals ie- art deco border maybe. The old and the new

We would like to look at two very different approaches- one drawing inspiration from Japanese whiskey bottles- super clean and sophisticated using old fashioned script. One idea is to try and have an ancient style hand drawn calligraphy with a palm tree, dove and something Australian but stylised, I have provided a few pictures above. The idea of using iconography and hand written labels could be interesting.
The other idea is to go really fresh modern and Australian drawing very strong influences from Reg Mombassa and Henri Matisse to create something unique fun and playful.
No matter what we decide we would like to use either silver or gold metallic in the label to really lift the label out from the crowd
