YA Thriller Book Cover with a Mysterious Alpine Feel

Bethany Lee is a Communications graduate from Brigham Young University who has a soft spot for young adults and all of the pressures and insecurities they face on a daily basis. A creative writer since early childhood, Bethany has written blogs, short stories, and novels. In her writings, she uses humor, honesty, and whimsy to pull the reader in and invite them to laugh, relate, and introspect. Bethany currently resides in Lehi, Utah.
Kaitlin, the social pariah of her high school, is so relieved to have made friends at Camp Overlook—and to have caught the attention of a real, live, honest-to-goodness boy—that she is willing to look past the camp’s anomalies: creepy grey-eyed counselors, 24-hour video surveillance, and campers falling ill and then disappearing quietly into the night. But when Kaitlin begins feeling strange symptoms herself, she can no longer pretend that Overlook is a run-of the-mill summer camp. She and her new friends must race to solve the mystery of Camp Overlook, even if it means facing some difficult truths and uncovering some painful family secrets, before she is the next camper to vanish.
Young adults, ages 12-19. While the protagonist is a female, my book should appeal to both genders.
Book cover type
This book is a thriller with a sci-fi edge. It takes place at a summer camp in the Rocky Mountains and I would like the cover to somehow reflect that. The main character is 14 years old-- pretty, slender, freckled and has long, wavy, honey-colored hair. Her eyes are blue-green, but her irises should be rimmed in a murky gray color (as her eyes begin to change colors throughout the book). I do not need the main character on the cover, but I am open to it. I prefer an artistic rendering over a photograph. I like a modern, trendy font and have attached some covers that I am drawn to. I especially like the cover for "Danger to Herself and Others." This book has a dark subject matter, but is actually pretty playful too.
What to avoid
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
rlee v collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
