The Power Rank, Inc.
We use mathematics and computers to predict the outcome of sports events such as the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
I'm writing a book on how to win your NCAA tournament pool. It tells unexpected story behind how to use data and analytics to maximize your odds of winning.
The cover should have the title "How to win your NCAA tournament pool" and my name "Ed Feng" as the author.
I want a cover for this book that makes a browser or reader feel smart and modern. They should think "yeah, I know data and analytics are important these days, and I can use it to win my pool."
The style should be bold but elegant, such as the Futura font used for the company logo. See this link or the second attached image of my site.
This visual of win probabilities for the tourney also gives the style I'm hoping to capture for the book cover. Please see this link or the first attached image.

The cover should have a front, spine and back. I will use the front immediately in the ebook version due out in March.
The cover should be a vector image that I can export to various formats. It could include a typical bracket structure, or a non-traditional bracket in the previous visual.
In general, my style with The Power Rank is very minimalist. I'd like the cover to reflect this.
The cover must look good in a thumbnail image.
Please be creative. Almost every cover in the "analytics reveals a hidden truth" genre is downright terrible. Push the envelope.
Thanks for reading.
In case you're not an American sports fan, each year the NCAA holds a single elimination tournament to crown a men's basketball champion.
It's a huge media and fan event, mostly because people can enter a pool. People get together a pool, and everyone in the pool fills out a bracket. Yes, there's a money prize at the end for the best bracket.
This so called March Madness has been a big part of my business. I started calculating win probabilities for each team, and in 2012, a big media outlet came and made a video on it. A big part of their interest was the interactive bracket.
Also, I'm a huge college basketball fan, so this book means a lot to me on a personal level.
