tuomas.a.vanhanen got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Which eco-friendly actions actually matter? (A book cover)
Check out tuomas.a.vanhanen's Book cover contest…
My book is about energy, and what regular people can do to fight climate change with actions that matter most: using more public transportation, choosing wisely their home energy system, and eating less meat. I'm also going through the effects of different energy generation and efficiency methods - what are the pros and cons of e.g. nuclear power and wind power. My main focus is to be thought provoking and take no sides, but instead let people decide themselves what they think and want to do. People often have a good will to do stuff like unplug chargers when they are not needed, but these smaller things sometimes distract people from doing the big things - like heating or cooling their house a bit less - which would have a much greater impact on our planet.
What's your vision?
I want a design for a book cover (front and back, placeholder texts), so that the front can be used for audiobook and e-book covers as well. Front size is A5, please see attachments. The main topic is "Valot päälle!" and subline "Puolueeton kirja energiasta." and the author "Tuomas Vanhanen". Valot päälle has a double meaning: Lights on! but also "Get yourself together". Subline means "An independent book about energy." The main colours I'd like to use are yellow (or lights from a light bulb) and / or turquoise (no specific reason), of course you can also use black and white. Please try to create an attractive design with barcode and ISBN numbers included in the back.
Here are some initial ideas. You can either use these or totally create something unique of your own. Please keep in the dimensions, also attached.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at $299.
