WANTED: Exciting book cover for a super-visual 5:2 diet book!

We publish health books for diabetes & weight loss, using thousands of food photos to show people the carbs, calories and other nutrients in different portions of foods. Our products are extremely visual, simple, accessible and easy to use.

We've nearly finished a new book called 5:2 Fasting Photos. It uses our existing visual format (of hundreds of food photos), but is targeting people on the 5:2 diet. They buy the normal Fast Diet book (by Michael Mosley) and then use our book to know what to eat on their 500-calorie fasting days. So it's an add-on to an existing diet. The book contains 60 low-calorie recipes, 20 snack idea, and the a further 500 photos of individual food portions. The reader can use all of the above to very quickly decide (by flicking through the photos on all the pages) what they want to eat on a fasting day, and be educated about calories as well as protein (to keep them full), fat (generally healthier if lower) and 5-a-day fruit & veg. The book is printed full-colour photo-quality throughout. It only contains a few pages of text, with the rest of the book being wall-to wall photos & graphics - so very visual! What we would like designing is an exciting new cover to really represent the visual nature of what's inside the book, and also sell the USP of the book which is "using food photos to count calories". The cover document to be designed includes the front cover, spine and back cover. We're looking for a fresh new cover (different to our existing books), so we wholly encourage you to be creative to come up with a cover you feel represents the book. We do have a colour palette to preferably stick to and a few background documents & food photos we've used inside the book which you can use, but other than that, please be creative with the notion of fresh, healthy, positive, weight-loss in mind. I've included an InDesign (6) template which is the correct size (cover is 128mm x 198mm with 9mm spine and 5mm bleed on each edge). The document contains the colour palette and gradients to choose from, as well as a few other components. One key thing to include is the calories for each portion, which appears in the book inside a blue circle (see template). The font inside the book is Open Sans (a combination of Light, Regular, Semi-bold, Bold, etc), but feel free to be creative with other fonts for the cover if you see fit. The attached ZIP file contains: - Word doc with the text content for the front, spine and back cover. - InDesign Template containing the colour palette and components that can be used if required. - Header backgrounds used inside the book - 4 recipe photos - 1 individual food photo (as used in the book with 3 circles) - 5-a-day Fruit & Veg symbol (on template) - Carbs & Cals logo (on template) - Chello Publishing Logo - FSC Logo Final document to be delivered to us should preferably be an InDesign document which we will be able to edit in future if necessary.
