Potato Chip Cookies & Tomato Soup Cake: Recipes of Americana
Dr. Carole Eberly
Dr. Carole Mary Eberly, a graduate of Michigan State University's School of Journalism, began her career as a general assignment reporter at the Charlevoix Courier. She later became news editor for radio station WHMI in Howell before being hired as a state capital correspondent for United Press International, where she covered all branches of government for more than five years. In 1977, she started Eberly Press, which published books filled with Michigan lore and recipes. She was awarded MSU's College of Communications Arts & Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award in 1981 and the National Federation of Press Women's Communicators of Achievement for 2006, the group's highest honor.
This book was originally published in 1992 and has been out of print. As such, the cover and back copy are somewhat dated. I am looking to give the book a face-lift and get it back in print. The book features classic Americana recipes. These are the recipes that were at family reunions and church potlucks as well as old classics.
Those who enjoy cooking and baking with a vintage flare.
Book cover type
Because these are older classics, I would really like a cover that has a vintage / retro feel to it. I am open to any colors you use. I have included a copy of the old cover, but this is only for reference. I don't imagine keeping any elements from the previous design. This cover used red, white, and blue, but I'd love to see another color choice. Again, anything that gives that vintage feel would be good. The book is 5.5" x 8.5" and 160 pages.
What to avoid
I would really like to avoid stock art as I want the cover to be one-of-a-kind. I prefer original art.
