Under Big-Hearted Skies: A Young Man's Canadiana
*No pic of author on front or back cover; no About the Author either. But so the cover designer knows who I am: I'm Tom, 37, and this is my first book. It matters a lot to me. I'm excited to work with you.
**I have the material for the back cover, this is not that. This is a short description for the cover designer to relate to the content: Under Big-Hearted Skies: A Young Man's Canadiana is a collection of stories that I’ve lived. Remote northern Canadian jobs, fish and hunt guiding, bush planes, oil rigs. It’s adventure, conflict, comedy, sacrifice, love, beauty, humanity. It's memoir, creative-nonfiction. Mostly outdoor Canadian settings, forest, lakes, mountains, oceans. There is a theme of optimism.
Age: 15-100, male and female. The book has deep humanity, beauty, conflict, adventure, romance, comedy. Mostly outdoor Canadian settings, forest, lakes, mountains, oceans. There is a theme of optimism.
Book cover type
I'm Tom, 37, this is my first book and it means a lot. I'm excited to work with you. -Someone who is familiar with designing to the specs of both Amazon/KDP and Ingram Spark. -5x8 print book size. There are 228 pages. -Paper weight at Amazon: 50#. (I think) -Paper weight at IG Spark: 55#. (I think) -I am completely open to your creative suggestions and even something entirely different than what I'm listing here: -Generally: clean, bold, striking... but I could be convinced otherwise. I have attached 14 examples that I like and they vary from modern to classic. -Could be modern, or not. -Could use white/red theme. Maple leaf. Or not. -Perhaps outdoor scene, tree, or blue for water and skies. -Perhaps something that hints at optimism like light through trees or sky. Falling red leaves. Or not. -Perhaps consider the theme alluded to in the title: "Under Big-Hearted Skies" -I'm attaching the back cover blurb, the publisher's logo, some files of examples that seem good--but feel free to entirely deviate; I'm excited to see your creativity--I'm very open to things I have not suggested and new directions entirely.
What to avoid
I am entirely open to suggestions. WRT to the back cover, I'm attaching a file with two examples of the use of contrasting font and colors which I think make the content readable, enticing.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
tttstew collaborated with designers to refine their ideas

And then… they selected 2 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
