What's your vision?
Book cover for a mystery novel named Pearl Lake: The book size is 5 1/4 X 8; book is 320 pages The story is about a small town sheriff, who is handsome and about 25 - 30 years old, who is asked to help solve a burglary at the Chicago Field Museum. In addition to the sheriff, some of the main characters in the book are two chiefs of Native American Indian tribes, a beautiful blonde woman, and a mystical white buffalo. The target audience is 25 - 50 year-olds, including parents of kids that play sports (football); readers that appreciate the charm of small towns; and cozy mystery readers My thoughts for the cover are: - images to be as clear as possible, in the daytime, not cartoon drawings; I have attached various pictures and diagrams to give you an idea of what I am thinking of. - in the background, a lake with a fall season country skyline of a lakeshore with trees, a barn, silo, church steeple in the background; if possible, on one side of the background include carnival images such as a Ferris-Wheel, merry-go-round, carnival tent, and roller coaster. - I like the idea, but don't know if it's possible, to have a reflection on the lake of the Chicago skyline - this is for the reflection on the water only. The primary skyline should be a fall season country lakeshore as noted above, similar to the Lakeshore picture attached. - would like to include the lake and skyline background on the entire front and back book cover - on the right forefront, a beautiful woman facing forward, with long wavy blonde hair strategically covering her bare breasts, and wearing a bikini bottom. The book would be rated PG-13, so the woman cannot be too revealing - no more than a woman wearing a fairly skimpy bikini; want it to be eye-catching, not raunchy. - next to the woman or partially in front of her is a young white buffalo. The buffalo is female so it should not have horns. It should be in a position that looks like it may be protecting the woman, or at least is with her; picture of white buffalo is attached for reference; may need to change buffalo a little to make sure it looks like a buffalo and not a dog. - there is a mystical aspect to the woman and white buffalo if you would like to incorporate that on the cover - at the woman's/buffalo's feet are various jewels, necklaces, etc. and a dreamcatcher decoration; picture attached of a necklace for reference - if possible and if it does not clutter up the cover, include a sheriff standing somewhere in the background, maybe one half the size of the woman or less, with an American-style football next to him at his feet. He should be around 25 - 30 years-old and good-looking; would prefer to have a young, fairly good-looking man rather than an older frumpy-looking cop, even if he is not in uniform. The attached picture of the woman in Capri is from a 99 designs winning submission that I included because I like the woman on the forefront and the lake and skyline in the background, which is very close to what I'm looking for. The attached woman/wolf picture is similar to what I want, with the woman/wolf in the forefront and the background; for my design I'd like the white buffalo next to the woman instead of the wolf. For the book title "Pearl Lake", please use a thick, wavy, Italics font such as Pacifico; would like the subtitle "A Wisconsin Mystery" to be under the title, and the author name approx. 2 - 3 inches under that Design must be at least 300 dpi which is the minimum requirement for the book printer Please feel free to be creative throughout. If you can come up with a unique, eye-catching cover that helps to portray the story from the ideas I've thrown out there, that would be great!
I know I've thrown a lot of details at you. If you can incorporate them all into the cover, fine, but if not, do your best to zone in on what you think would make the best cover based on what I gave you. Thank you.
