Todd H. Davis is the father of three kids who were older teenagers (two girls and a boy) at the time of writing his first two novels, The Trailer Behind the Garage and The Gas Station Girl. He lives with his “smarter-than-me” wife in the Houston, Texas, suburb of Cypress, which is the setting for his novels. Todd spent most of his life in the Houston area, except for the two years in Japan as a young man, teaching English in churches in the Nagasaki area. While he was getting used to Asian culture, his wife, who had recently arrived in the US from China for studies, was getting used to American culture. They have spent the time since then getting used to each other.

This is a fictional story of teenage girl sex trafficking victim finding refuge with a young family and establishing a new life with the family's help. The church plays big role in the process. She learns to trust and shed the insecurities about her past. It is a story of family and redemption.

The opening scene. The front design should be a self-service gas station scene that includes a boy, a girl and a black Cadillac Escalade. The scene is late at night. A tall Black 16-year-old boy is at a gas station to fuel up the family's Cadillac Escalade. While the gasoline is pumping, he is on the phone. (I don't have a preference his clothes, but note that area has mild temperature, so do not include a jacket or winter clothes.) He has short hair and is clean-shaven. A 17-year-old White girl with long dark hair (of Syrian heritage, if that matters), wearing a red tank top and denim shorts and is barefoot, tries to sneak into random strangers' cars, including the boy's Escalade. The girl looks serious or scared (see image id H5WXB9 at www.alamy.com). The boy looks trustworthy/kind. At one point, the boy uses FaceTime to let his sister (on the phone) see the girl who is behaving strangely. I also want to consider including a photo of a gas station at night on the lower section of the back cover since the blurb is short, but I am open to alternative ideas. Do not include author bio on back. Try to match the font style to the style used for book 'The Trailer Behind the Garage' (on Amazon).
