Title: The Student Manual
Sub Title: A Guide To Success
Author Name: Nick Goodall
The book revolves around 4 themes: health, relationships, wealth and other skills. The content is fluff-free, relevant, easily-applicable and practical.
I've attached a sample that I've been using up to this point. I'm no designer, so don't judge.
The book size is A5.
Colours: I'd like the title to be green, I have some vision of it being green, I'm not sure why. I don't mind what colour the subtitle and the authors name are. As long as all the colours work well together I'm happy!
Each theme has a separate colour; health = green, relationships = red, wealth = blue and other skills = orange. Whether you incorporate those in the design or not is up to you, whatever looks best!
Also, feel free to be creative with the fonts, don't be guided by the Oswald, but I'd prefer if they were sans-serif.
Layout: be creative! I'd like the order the same as attached: title - subtitle - author name at the bottom.
I don't know what type of design I want, so feel free to be creative. Something that relates well to the style and theme of self-development for students.
If you do use real photos - make sure they look good. Nothing with cut-out edges that looks tacky.
Spine: at an estimated guess it'll be about 6 - 7mm thick, but I can't be sure. I'd like the name of the book at the top, and the authors name at the bottom (sideways of course).
Back: at the moment I don't have any content to go there, but I'd still like the design for when I do have the content. Something that will eventually support a description. Don't worry about a bar code either.
The book will be a printed paperback, but I'll also need a 3D eBook cover to use with social media etc.
I want the book to stand out and look EPIC (as any author would say) and have an element of self-development, however you incorporate that.
