This designer was everything! They gave me exactly what I wanted, in a timely manner, and I am extreeeeeeemely satisfied and hope to work with them again. If i could take this designer home and use them to illustrate my everyday life I would! Beautiful Job.
- Cakamura DSGN Studio
This designer is amazing, which is why, after receiving a wonderful cover for my initial cover contest, I decided to have new covers made for the entire seven-book series. Cakamura DSGN Studio surpassed my expectations for turnaround time and design quality, and patiently worked with me on any concerns I had throughout the design process. I will be reaching out to work with this designer again for my next book!
The job went great. The designs were all great and getting to the final one went very smooth. Working with MajaKopunovic was a great experience and would recommend her to anyone. The amount of time and care she took was amazing.
How diedekr started their book cover journey
This is my first book and I am self publishing. My intent is for this book to be the first in the series. I will upload a short biography for inclusion on the back page of the paperback.
Renee is a 45 year old woman laid off from her 20 year corporate job, she makes the difficult decision to reopen a quiet, old resort on a Minnesota lake her favorite aunt Celia left to her. It is about Renee's quest to redesign a better life with some danger and mystery mixed in, as well as some romance. I am working on the "blurb" now.
Probably more women than men; however, I do want to market to both (male readers have given me very positive feedback), I would say 30+ in age
Book cover type
I like the colors and the placement of everything. Do not care for the font.
I like the water droplets and colors, placement of title and author name. Don't necessarily want an image overlay like this of a person and don't care for the font.
I like most everything about this cover including the fonts.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Updates: as I have had a chance to review some awesome designs submitted over the last couple of days I am finding I prefer covers without people on them, a more summer scene vs. winter/fall. My resort is in Minnesota - no big mountains please :). But I also challenge you to do something totally different that might reflect a time of change and renewal - feel free to use your imagination!
Some ideas: silhouette of dark lake cabin at dusk with some storm clouds in the sky maybe the glow of a flashlight on behind the cabin; the resort is comprised of small cabins, or a daytime scene on the edge of a lake, maybe a dock jutting into water (some ripples on the surface), if incorporate a woman she needs to be 40ish with short to med length hair - casual; open to other ideas as well, want a calm, peaceful mood but OK to have some undercurrent of danger too, numerous scenes in book around a lake and an ocean so water somewhere on the cover good; book will be 6x9 with a spine between 0.9 and 1 inch.
What to avoid
glaring colors or a "loud" mood, frames on edge of cover or spine
