Great communication and fast turn-around for any tweaks we asked to make.
How jasondmandel started their book cover journey
Family man living on Long Island who puts in long hours at a bank in NYC but cherishes every moment with his wife and kids.
The book follows my wife and I as young adults trying to make major life and medical decisions on the journey to having a baby. My wife and I encountered trouble getting pregnant and moved towards fertility treatments that resulted in a very complex pregnancy initially with quadruplets. We battled numerous medical surprises and difficult moral decisions on the path to having our healthy baby girl.
20s+ and would guess more female than male readers. However, we don't want the cover to be too feminine such that men are embarrassed to be seen reading it. No or limited use of pink, for example. It's less important that our daughter is a girl and more about the journey of having her - the pregnancy and OUR relationship (my wife and I) throughout it.

What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Do not want much or any pink - it's not about the fact that our child turned out to be a girl and more about the journey of having her.
Creating a vision of two young adults - it's a story of our journey together through very serious and adult decisions.
What to avoid
Avoid negative connotation. No nursery items (cribs etc) - looks a little creepy. No medical imagery. Do not want it to look "girly" or like a children's book.
