The Last Stand Down
Philip J Bradbury
In New Zealand I experienced life as an accountant, credit manager, company director, shepherd, scrub-cutter, tree pruner, freezing worker, plastics factory worker, saxophonist, army driver, tour bus driver, stage and television actor and singer, builder, lecturer, facilitator for men’s groups, reporter, columnist, magazine editor, publisher, writer ... In South Africa as an AIDS workshop co-facilitator ... In the Australian bush as a barman, horse and camel trekker and stock-whip teacher ... In England as a contract accountant, corporate trainer, estate manager, lecturer, singer/songwriter, website editor/writer and freelance writer … Now that I’m back in Australia, house renovating, teaching and writing, I’m wondering what’s next! The constant for my wife and I is A Course in Miracles, a psychological life-style course in forgiveness. Through it I have found the peace I had always been searching for - the journey to where we have always been.
Based in London, this action/mystery novel starts with an innocuous burglary claim from Lord Atkinson’s mansion. A bored insurance clerk (Arthur) and feisty Scottish executive (Mary) are quickly drawn into the intrigue as it’s discovered that the lord has been diverting government funds for his own use. Government agencies and police suspect Arthur and Mary of collusion and they discover the lord and their boss (Sam) have diverted funds from a bogus development project in Kenya back to England to develop a free-energy machine, invented by a New Zealander, to showcase at the 2012 London Olympics and to then provide to developing nations for free. Power and petroleum companies have been bribing politicians, Metropolitan Police and MI5 personnel to stop this invention and the burglary was for the plans to it. There’s chases, people knocked out, people imprisoned, tied up, stabbed and shot as the saga speeds up. No one is killed so no blood in the cover, please. Spiritual techniques, from A Course in Miracles, pepper the story. The book is based on actual, unconnected events in the author’s life.
35-60 year olds. Those interested in a conspiracy adventure, police and political corruption and free-energy technology.
Book cover type
This is a fast action, political, police and corporate corruption novel - the "little" man against the larger forces. It was published 10 years ago (https://philipjbradbury.com/product/the-last-stand-down/) and is being rebranded as I have now written it as a screen-play. It will be podcasted soon and, also, promoted to movie producers. We would also like to use elements of the cover design for the podcast website to would like to receive PSD (and other) files. If this works well, there’s a possibility of designing website images, other book covers and a range of other design work.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
