Our goals for the book:
We would like the book to sell incredibly well to our target audience but be compelling to our larger fringe audience as well. In a year’s time I would like to have 500 bonafide reviews of the book and it become the springboard for speaking engagements and potentially other ventures.
Our thoughts on the cover:
We want peoples eyes to stop on our book whether it be on a shelf somewhere, or a thumbnail at Amazon or other online book seller. We also want what ever imagery that is developed to become the logo for all things related to the book, associated website and any potential business entity that emerges from the book.
I would like the potential reader to feel like we understand their pain and their insecurity regarding their relationship and relationship skills. I want them to feel that we are the authority on the subject but that we also are warm loving people who want to help them through the issues they are having with their relationship. I want them to feel like we care about them, because we do. I would also like to convey the idea of transformation from heartbreak and despair to hope and assurance to come through in the cover.
The double entendre of the title of the Book, Love Life, is on purpose to cover the issues of loving life as well as creating a great lovelife.
Design wise, I do not have anything that I am committed to, whether it be colors, fonts, sizes, images etc. and relinquish that expertise to those who know that work better.
My personal preferences are bright and bold colors. I lead a simple harmonious life and prefer things be simple, but on the other hand I am probably not my target demographic.
I am probably going to go with a book that is pretty standard 5-1/4” to 5-1/2” wide by 8-1/4” to 8-1/2” tall. It will probably run 180 to 200 pages.
