PLEASE READ CAREFULLY and feel free to message me with any questions or clarifications before you submit a design. Designs that don't follow this brief will be immediately rejected. I want the cover to include two hands reaching for each other. I want the image to be split into multiple sections somehow, with each section different (i.e. different skin colors, different backgrounds; as if they represent the characters' past lives)-- as if two people are literally reaching across time and space for one another. It could be split into even sections (i.e. diagonally; see attached photos) or in a fractal; whatever the designer thinks will work. This DOES NOT mean the cover should be split into two even halves with each hand in a different scene/world/context. PLEASE look at the attached photo. I also envisioned in the center, where they are about to touch, the fingers being made of nothing more than stardust or made from light. The hands are one male, one female (if that matters; if it does, and if one is positioned higher than the other, as if reaching down, I would like the feminine hand to be reaching down and the masculine hand reaching up). I am envisioning some contrast between light and dark colors, but mostly deep colors; lots of browns, greens, purples, deep blues; but I am absolutely willing to adjust preferences for color and other elements of design according to what the designer thinks will work best. Overall mood of the design: romantic (but not spicy), dramatic, can include some elements that may hint at fantasy (the book has lots of past life stories, some in fantasy-like settings), but the book is mostly contemporary. I will very likely also be wanting to work in the future with my designer to develop a few promotional items (i.e. a design for a bookmark).
