I'm Alex, a bestselling author of contemporary romance who lives in the USA who is waiting for her villain origin story.

The main character grew up in a boys' home in the woods where he and his brothers were trained to be soldiers. He is the dark, long-haired, dangerous & mysterious type. Eventually, he meets the woman he didn’t know he’d been waiting for, in an underground tunnel, and while she’s aiming a pistol at him. They fall for each other (naturally) and have a son. Now, the people from the boys' home want to abduct the main character's son to do the same to him what they did to the main character.

This is part of a series that's already published; however, it's nigh time to remake the covers. My goal is to have the winner design a brand new look/cover for this book, and then I'd like to keep working with you for the others (5 and counting). Okay, bear with me because I've got ideas and no design skills. There are three cover types that can work well for this genre: 1) A single male on the cover (like the original ebook covers)*** 2) A symbol (this character uses knives, blades, throwing knives, etc. He's a contract killer who takes the "killer" bit a little too far)* 3) A couple** Honestly, whatever you feel most comfortable designing, it's up to you. I will warn you, though, that it's an interracial couple. Unless you're comfortable with swaps, it's notoriously difficult to find a mixed (black/ afro-american & white/caucasian couple) to use on the cover. Male-only covers are usually the best received. I try to get the design brief strength as close to 100% as possible, so I hope I haven't bogged you all down with too much info.

It's a dark romance series, so you can stay in the "dark cover" territory. However, I'm open-minded if you feel like you've got a concept for a "light" cover that will work. Script font is okay as long as it's understated. #1 choice is a sans serif. Shirtless guys are okay, but no nudity 😋 I'm a bit disorganized & may not respond immediately, but I do get back to you.
