TACTICAL RELOAD Mindset shift for the next generation of law enforcement leaders.
A 14-year, decorated, policing professional, and SWAT operator from North Carolina. National policing award winner. Ph.D. student at Nova Southeastern University. Governor appointed commissioner of the NC Human Relations Commission and most importantly, married to a wonderful wife, Amy.
A piece of the book is my own story of pushing forward, perseverance, and grit. Something my generation of millennials have, contrary to popular belief. Grit, to me, is an intangible characteristic for leaders. The other pieces of the book dive into my millennial generation and their effect on the criminal justice system, the ever-changing police culture, mindsets, along with current and future leadership styles, Recently, I interviewed U. S. Representative, Dave Reichert. He is a very well-known retired Sheriff from Washington State as well as the Chair of the Law Enforcement Caucus. Next week I interview Erika Shields, the Chief of the Atlanta Police Department. As well as experts from around the country. Definitely an advice piece for new and veteran officers.
Police and prospective policing recruits. Anyone interested or involved with the criminal justice system.
Book cover type
Don’t know yet
I certainly want it to be geared towards attracting law enforcement in a contemporary way. Open to outside the box ideas. I want something that is funky/artsy/millennial meets law enforcement. Use lots of colors if you like. Possibly something that involves the brain since it’s about mindset shifts. Too much actual tactics can be misleading.
What to avoid
Cheesy police stuff.
