The Self Made Indian Dream
Vinodh Subramanian is one among the millions of middle-class Indians who are working their way up in society. He is working towards making upward mobility possible for millions of lower and middle-class individuals like him via his projects. Some of his works have been extensively covered by various media houses such as India Today, Business Today, The Hindu, Times of India, Deccan Chronicle, Your Story, The New Indian Express, and regional media such as Dinamalar, Daily Thanthi, Aval Vikatan, Captain TV, Daily Thanthi, Puthiyathalaimurai TV and so on.
Have you heard about The American Dream that states “Life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each, according to their ability and achievement, regardless of their social class or circumstances of birth?” 243 years after independence, The American Dream still continues to inspire the nation, holds its people together, gets everyone pushing in the same direction and makes the country what it is today. Besides America, our neighbour, China has a “Chinese Dream,” which promotes prosperity, collective effort and national glory. Even smaller countries like Qatar and New Zealand have also stated their national dreams. But what about India? Do we have a dream that can push us in the same direction and that can inspire you, me and a billion others? Yes, India had a dream in the past – a dream of an independent country, but that dream ended after we achieved it. What about now? Do we still have an Indian dream that can inspire us into action? Yes, there is a new kind of dream that has started emerging from every nook and corner across the nation. Inside The Self Made Indian Dream, you will discover what this new Indian dream is all about and how this new Indian dream is driving the new Indian middle class to achieve their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is increasingly for anyone regardless of their age, gender, caste, education or background.
Target audience: 1. Small business owners 2. Startup entrepreneurs 3. People who want to start business 4. College students interested in entrepreneurship 5. Anyone who wants to work hard, and move up in the social ladder Age: 13+ Location: Primary location: India Secondary location: Wordlwide Other relevant information: The book helps people from poor, lower and middle income class from India with various societal disadvantages. It teaches them how they can move up in the social ladder, and achieve upward mobility despite their age, gender, race, caste or background if they are willing to work for it.
Book cover type
The book talks about how people from disadvantaged social backgrounds such as poor, lower and middle income class backgrounds can move up in the social ladder if they are willing to work for it. The book's one main idea is eradicating social inequality. Therefore, I want to showcase social inequality in the society in the book cover. While I want to showcase social inequality in the society, I don't want the book cover with too much details. I want the cover to have minimalistic design while showcasing inequality. For example, take a look at the attachment I have provided. The attachment has the following book covers. Outliers by Malcom Gladwell David and Goliath by Malcom Gladwell Blink by Malcom Gladwell The Tipping Point by Malcom Gladwell What The Dog Saw by Malcom Gladwell Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman Please check the attachment pdf that has all the above mentioned book covers. I would like my book cover to be in a similar color palette, fonts and design. Like how the above books convey the main idea using an object in the front and back covers, I want to convey "Social Inequality" in the cover in both the front and back of the cover. Please check the attachment thoroughly to get more information.

I had been trying to create a cover for my book for almost 6 months. After multiple designers, 2 different contests, and more than 350 cover designs, I got what I was looking for from mr. red. I'm thankful for conceptualizing what was in my mind. I love how clean, minimalistic and thought provoking the design is. Thanks to him. I'd definitely recommend him for anyone that's looking for a clean and professional book cover.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
