Advice from the Bike Peddler
I am a young entrepreneur living in Silicon Beach. I've spent the majority of my life disliking books. Throughout school, I avoided reading and only read what I knew would be on tests. As an adult, I have found a love for reading entrepreneurial and self-development books. After reading many books, I understand that they were all written by average people like me and that I could write a book too.
This is a book about many of the life and business lessons I've learned throughout my life. The book shares many of the stories that lead to the lessons learned and helps the reader by giving them to steps to learn from my mistakes rather than making their own. The title of the book comes from a man who rents bicycles to people at the beach near where I live. He is someone who tries to find shortcuts to success frequently but is met with failure. There is no shortcut to success is the lesson he will have to learn like everyone else. The book will be roughly 120 pages long.
The book will target men and women in the United States that are in their 20s and trying to make a lasting impact on their lives. The book is a self-help style book that encourages people to do what no one else will.
Book cover type
I want a book cover that jumps out at people and makes them want to take it home and read it. The font should be bold and the colors should draw attention to it easily. **** I have a bright red background in mind and white letters*** A good example of what I'm looking for is something similar but not an exact match of the book cover The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k Adding a picture of a bicycle may be a nice accent to the front cover, however, the bicycle must be a Beach Cruiser style.
What to avoid
Avoid stock images. No cartoons. Avoid looking like the photo of the original book cover I've attached.

And then… they selected a winner!
Third project I've worked on with pulp and I am happy to say that I have not been disappointed. We plan on launching some new books next year and pulp will be our go to!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
