What's your vision?
Hello designers. We’d like for you to design a 6.125” x 9.25” hardcover book cover for us. Here’s the information on the book: Title: Jobs to Be Done Subtitle: A Roadmap for Customer-Centered Innovation Authors: Stephen Wunker, Jessica Wattman, and David Farber This book looks at a theory that was introduced by Clayton Christensen in a popular book called The Innovator’s Dilemma about a new way to think about innovating new products. You can read about it in the attached book description. Our book, Jobs to Be Done, makes this theory very step-by-step and very practical. ----Design Information---- Audience: product managers, marketers, customer service professionals. Over all “look and feel": Very simple, uncluttered layout. Very contemporary. But, the design should have a practical element, contrasting with a clean business look. You could think of it as business book meets a carpenter. Possible imagery: mostly text (probably sans serif) but would like to have some “hand-made” element, like someone has drawn a sketch for a new product or idea, or a hand-made map. An image of MAKING something. Maybe a blueprint. Possibly something that implies innovation or new ideas. Light bulbs have been used A LOT, so we’d rather see something else, but won’t say no light bullbs. Maybe a half-opened box (with a “new product” inside), or maybe a “framework’ of some kind. Published books with similar feel: I’m attached a collection called ContrastingStyles-Managment, that has the right feel. None of them has the right image, but they all have the idea of contrast in styles. Some information about the book is attached. NOTE: Please show me your designs as a face-front, flat image. You’re welcome to also include an angled “3D” version if you want, but we want to be able to compare all the designs in a FLAT format. We prefer jpgs that are about 1200 pixels tall. We do not want to see a spine or a back cover. Thanks, Cathleen Ouderkirk
